dedication
Having your children dedicated is an important part of your family’s faith journey. At Life Church Utah, we recognize that this step involves more than just you as parents - it also includes the entire family of Life Church.
Kids are a huge part of Life Church,
They are the next generation.
This will help walk you through the decision process and give you some tools you need to follow through on having your child dedicated. Thanks for including Life Church Utah in your family’s faith journey.
Is there any biblical precedent for baby dedication?
-
In the Old Testament, Hannah dedicates Samuel. “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life will be given over to the Lord.”
1 Samuel 1:27-28.
-
In the New Testament, Mary and Joseph dedicated Jesus. They took the infant Jesus to the Temple “to present him to the Lord.”
Luke 2:22-35.
Dedication is NOT infant baptism.
Dedication is NOT salvation for the child.

Dedication is primarily about parents dedicating themselves to the Lord! In the Old Testament, Moses told the people, “these commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7) God’s commands were given to families first! Parents have the most important task of raising their children to follow Christ, through your example as parents.
Life Church is here to partner with parents as you determine to put Christ first.
Dedications at Life Church happen several times per year during the service. Please contact the main office to find the next available date.
You can register for the dedication by contacting the office at 801-968-3715 or by email sent to life@lifechurchutah.com and indicate your desire to dedicate your child.
Thanks again for your interest in dedicating your family to the Lord!
