Cultivate | Community

The sermon explored the biblical concept of "ekklesia" - the called-out ones - and why gathering together as the body of Christ is essential to our spiritual growth. We discovered that community isn't just about attendance; it's about being a people who hold unwaveringly to hope, spur one another toward love and good works, and encourage each other with contagious courage. The early church in Acts 2 provides a beautiful picture of what this looks like: devoted teaching, authentic fellowship, shared meals, prayer, generosity, and daily worship. When we prioritize community, we become the counter-culture that reveals Jesus to our local community.

Takeaways:

• Your faith matters to me, and my faith matters to you - we strengthen each other's expression of intimacy with Jesus through relationship
• We are called to "spur one another on" - creating intentional peer pressure toward authentic faith, love, and good works that make God's presence real in our culture
• Courage multiplies in community - when we gather physically, we experience something irreplaceable that online connection cannot fully provide: the energy of corporate worship, the embrace of a friend, and the reminder that we're not alone in this journey

I want to challenge you this week: Is God calling you to experience ekklesia more intentionally? Whether through Lifegroups, serving, youth ministry, kids ministry, or outreach, there's a place for you to dive deeper into this community of faith. Let's reveal Jesus together!
