Cultivate | Harvest

March 16, 2026

The sermon explored how spiritual disciplines like prayer, scripture, community, generosity, worship, forgiveness, fasting, and sabbath are not ends in themselves, but rather keep us connected to Jesus, the Vine. When we truly abide in Him, the natural overflow is fruit that multiplies—specifically, sharing how Jesus has transformed our lives. Through the stories of the woman at the well and the demoniac, we discovered that sharing faith isn't a separate skill requiring perfect theology, but simply the authentic testimony of what Jesus has done for us. Whether we're naturally enthusiastic or hesitant about sharing, Jesus meets us where we are and commissions us personally to tell our story, trusting Him to bring the harvest.

Takeaways:

• Transformation precedes testimony: You can't share what you haven't experienced. Our cultivation through spiritual disciplines prepares us to bear lasting fruit by giving us a genuine story of how Jesus has changed us.

• Jesus commissions us personally: Whether you're like the woman at the well (naturally enthusiastic) or the demoniac (preferring to stay close to Jesus privately), He tailors His call to your personality and sends you to share—often starting with friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers.

• Love motivates sharing: The discipline of harvest flows from our core value of intentionally loving others. We don't need all the answers or perfect theology—just authenticity, prayer for opportunities, and trust that God will do the rest.

As we approach Easter, I encourage you to write down the names of people you're praying for and consider inviting them to join us. Let your transformed life and simple story become the bridge that points others to Jesus. We provide a tag for those who would like to write down the names and add them to the Prayer Board on a Sunday morning.
