Exiles of Hope | Purpose in the Hard Times

May 26, 2026

The radical difference between the Christian hope and the hopelessness that pervades our culture. Just as the ancient Greek and Roman world viewed death as a bleak, shadowy existence with nothing to look forward to, our modern world offers only temporary pleasures and self-fulfillment that ultimately leave us empty.
Into this darkness, Peter declares we have been given a "living hope" through the resurrection of Jesus Christ—an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading.
This living hope doesn't remove us from the world's trials, but it reframes them, showing that our suffering has purpose and that we are being refined into the image of Christ as we live as exiles in a world that is not our true home.
