Mother's Day | When Unlikely Leaders Rise

May 11, 2026

The sermon follows the remarkable story of Deborah, the only female judge in Israel's history, who arose during a time of national crisis and spiritual decay.
For twenty years, Israel suffered under the oppression of King Jabin and his military commander Sisera, with 900 iron chariots terrorizing the land. Into this desperate situation, God raised up an unlikely leader—a woman in a culture that typically dismissed female leadership.
Deborah's example shows us that God's calling transcends cultural expectations and that principled, confident leadership can inspire action and bring victory even in the most impossible circumstances.
This sermon reminds us that God still raises up "motherly protectors" who nurture, defend, and awaken courage in those around them.
