Risen | The King's Arrival
The sermon explored how Jesus' arrival as King was both unexpected and inevitable. From His miraculous birth in Bethlehem to His public entry into Jerusalem thirty years later, we traced two significant journeys that both ended at the temple—the dwelling place of God's presence. We discovered that God's heart has always been to dwell with His people, and through Jesus, He removes every barrier that keeps us from encountering Him. The implications for our spiritual life are profound: Jesus doesn't want to be a distant ruler, but desires to claim the throne of our hearts and make us His dwelling place.
Takeaways:
• God's plan has always been certain, even when it seems unexpected to us. From Genesis to the Gospels, God has been orchestrating redemption through Jesus, the King who would defeat sin, death, and the grave.
• Jesus clears away distractions to create space for the broken. Just as He cleansed the temple and immediately healed the blind and lame, He removes obstacles in our lives so we can truly encounter His presence and healing.
• God's presence is no longer confined to a building—He desires to dwell in our hearts. Through confession and belief in Jesus as Lord and in His resurrection, we become the temple where God's Spirit resides.
The question before each of us remains: Will you let Jesus come into the center of your life—not as a distant king, but as the One who claims your heart? He has made room for you through His life, death, and resurrection. You are not forgotten. You are not on the sidelines. His love for you is certain.
